Unique Hand-Thrown Pottery

This year for the holidays decided to try something different. Since all the craft fairs were closed, just opened the front driveway and sold pottery. Not too bad of a showing. Happy for the year to be over. Looking forward to 2021.
Well after a 3-year break I decided to get back into pottery. I forgot how much I needed it.
Wow, it’s already September. What happened to the year. So a few weeks ago Aunt Nickie says, “Can you make me yarn bowls?” Sorry – what the heck is a yarn bowl…well, here is my first attempt at a yarn bowl. I hope they survive the firing.
Just finished the first DIY Show on Treasure Island. If you have not visited Treasure Island, you need to go visit. Here is my table – I was in the Vie Winery. And the wines were not bad.
This summer has been GREAT.
First I have been back to my pottery wheel with great success. Found a new combination of Quyle’s Redstone and SilverStone. This has been the best clay combination to date. You tell me how they look?
Sorry for the disappearance. Real life has been getting in the way. But finally after all real life, I have some time to get back into the Studo. Really looking forward to more of my Red and White clay. Enjoy! Jennifer
My new favorite – Soup Bowls
Vases of all sizes
I am so looking forward to Summer. I have been secretly working on bird baths. This summer is when I hope to explore this more. If anyone has ideas, please send them along. It’s time for Jennifer to throw big or go home…
Hello – we had a successful anagame firing.
In March we had our first firing of the Anagama firing. I was so excited to be part of this event. We will have another soda firing at the end of April but the Anagama chamber must wait until after summer (love California air quality regulations). Here is a gallary of the pictures. On a peronal note, this was a GREAT experience and I cannot wait to be part of the next firing.
Happy Saturday to everyone, I finally finshed trimming my pieces with Sodium Silicate. I cannot believe how much I love this stuff. This time I threw a vase and a medium to large bowl. It creates such unique peices. I hope to post pictures later tomorrow.
